The Opportunity
Rupertsland Institute is recruiting for a Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) Program Coordinator to work within the Métis Education, Teaching and Learning team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Métis Education Teaching and Learning, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering a culturally relevant education program designed to support Métis adults in obtaining their CAEC. The successful candidate will play a key role in incorporating Métis cultural elements, traditions, and ways of knowing into the program, and supporting learners through culturally grounded education. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about Métis culture and traditions, and eager to incorporate Métis values and ways of knowing into a culturally relevant program.
To Fit the Role
Responsibilities:
- Design an instructional program that ensures achievement of all five subject areas in the Canadian Adult Education Certificate (CAEC), incorporating Métis cultural elements, traditions, and ways of knowing, while aligning with the competencies required for CAEC exam success.
- Develop a culturally relevant instructional program and learning plan for the cohort.
- Develop a learning plan that integrates hands-on, community-focused learning with culturally appropriate methodologies to build confidence and skills among learners.
- Train with Leboldus Consultant for the program set up.
- Recruit cohort members for the program.
- Manage ongoing communication with cohort members.
- Offer the program at the Rupertsland Centre for Teaching & Learning, providing a welcoming and inclusive space designed by Métis people for Métis people.
- Tailor in-person delivery to focus on client needs by adjusting the Instructional Program and its focus area elements to suit the cohort needs.
- Provide support for participants in accessing the Canadian Adult Education Certificate (CAEC) program.
- Ensure the environment reflects Métis cultural identity, fostering a sense of belonging and pride among participants.
- Coordination of instructional contracts.
- Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends for RLI events and other activities, as needed.
- Willingness and ability to travel, as required.
- Other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
- A degree in Education, preferably with a focus on Adult Education, Indigenous Studies, Social Work, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the coordination and instruction of educational programs.
- Experience in Adult Learning/Education.
- Experience in professional or educational settings is an asset.
- Experience in a non-profit and Indigenous organizations are assets.

- Ability to manage and coordinate participant recruitment and outreach.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
- Expertise in using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides), and Canva.
